PURPLE HAT & BACKPACK / PURSE W/ BEADS VINTAGE HIPPIE HIPPY BOHO. Material: 100% Paper straw. Paper is twisted like straw and then crocheted into a hat and backpack. Round crown with a row of flowers made from 6 bead used as petals around the rise of the hat. Beaded flowers alternate from pink, to yellow to green. Edge of hat can be rolled up to make a brim or worn down.
Backpack is crocheted in a circle beginning at the bottom. At 1 inch from the top a row of triple crochet make a gallon row. The paper twist crocheted straps wind through the galloon row. The straps have a paper twist slide that is used for opening and closing the backpack. Backpack looks more like a purse, but the straps are for a back pack. The backpack is fully lined the front of the backback has the same bead flowers, but they are 5 petal beads. I was a campfire girl and these beads and the design of there arrangement remind me of the beads we attached to our campfire vests. Item # IO 2980
All measurements are approximate:
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE: 21 1/2 to 23 1/2 inches
or approximately 55 -59 cm. The tag says 55 cm, my measurement was 23 1/2, so it might have stretched some, but would fit the range given.
CONDITION: Excellent used condition. No rips, stains, or smells. The slight fading on the backpack adds to the hippie appeal. Most of what I sell is used, vintage, or antique. Except when marked, new please expect some signs of age or wear. Anything beyond understandable wear will be noted. We love old stuff and hope you do too.
