This pattern will work for American Girl dolls as well as most other 18" dolls as the pattern is adjustable. I have made many doll clothes for both Life of Faith and American Girl. In my experience this pattern fits the Life of Faith dolls very well.

I have made many many dresses from this pattern. This is the only pattern I have found that rivals the American Girl Felicity pattern. This is one of my favorite patterns. I have modified the two piece dress into a one piece dress. I will include the altered piece and share the instructions in my google documents if you provide a gmail address. I have sold many of the one piece dresses for a minimum of $25.00 and some have sold for more.
